Job Description

Overview The Clear Lake Arts Center is seeking a creative, organized and community-minded Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of engaging arts events, programs and educational experiences that connect people through the arts. This full-time position plays a key role in advancing the Arts Center's mission by coordinating signature events, supporting classes and workshops, building community partnerships and creating welcoming experiences for artists, patrons, volunteers and visitors. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, collaborative and passionate about the role the arts play in strengthening communities. About the Clear Lake Arts Center The Clear Lake Arts Center is a nonprofit community arts organization located in downtown Clear Lake, Iowa. Through visual, performing and literary arts programming, the Arts Center serves residents and visitors across the North Iowa with exhibitions, educational opportunities, performances, public art and community events. Our mission is to ignite the creative spirit by engaging the diverse community we serve and our regional audience by providing opportunities and inspiration through the visual, performing and literary arts. Position Summary The Events Manager develops, coordinates and executes high-quality events and programs that strengthen community engagement, increase visibility for the Arts Center and support organizational sustainability. This role oversees signature events, educational programming and facility rentals while collaborating closely with staff, instructors, artists, volunteers, sponsors and community partners. The Events Manager also supports fundraising, marketing and outreach efforts connected to events and public programming. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage Clear Lake Arts Center events, programs and facility rentals
  • Oversee development of innovative, engaging and instructive classes, programs and workshops
  • Coordinate event logistics, vendors, volunteer scheduling and timelines
  • Build relationships with artists, instructors, sponsors and community partners
  • Collaborate on marketing, outreach and fundraising efforts
  • Track event attendance, budgets and overall program success
  • Maintain calendars, records and organizational communication
  • Represent the Arts Center at community and regional events Qualifications Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
  • Appreciation for the arts and the value of the arts to the community
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience coordinating events, programs and/or community initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility, reliability and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience with event logistics, volunteer coordination, budgeting and/or nonprofit work is preferred .
