Job Description

Precision Manufacturing | Deep Draw Stamping | Tool & Die Cadence is seeking a skilled Toolmaker / EDM Technician to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining tooling used in high-precision deep draw stamping operations, while supporting tooling performance, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in tool and die work, EDM operations, precision machining, and problem solving within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys working with complex tooling systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that support critical manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Build, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain dies and tooling used for precision deep draw stamping operations Set up and operate wire and sinker EDM equipment to produce and repair high-precision tooling components Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to manufacture tooling to exact tolerances Perform precision machining operations including grinding, milling, turning, polishing, fitting, and finishing as required Inspect completed tooling components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and tolerances Support tooling modifications and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturability, uptime, quality, and operational efficiency Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve tooling and manufacturing issues Maintain accurate documentation related to tooling repairs, maintenance activities, and process improvements Assist with preventative maintenance programs and tooling inventory management Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification preferred 3+ years of experience in tool and die, die making, precision machining, EDM operations, or related manufacturing environments Strong knowledge of tooling construction, machining processes, and precision measurement techniques Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments CNC programming and/or CAD/CAM experience Familiarity with eyelet tooling, progressive dies, or precision deep draw stamping applications Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience What You ll Bring A hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to tooling challenges Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams A commitment to precision, craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement The ability to identify opportunities to improve tooling performance and manufacturing reliability About Cadence Cadence is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in precision components and assemblies for the medical device and life sciences industries.
