Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a Temp-To-Hire position based in Santa Monica, California. This role will contribute to accurate financial reporting by managing core accounting activities across receivables, payables, cash entries, and compliance filings. The ideal candidate brings strong property or lease-related accounting knowledge and is comfortable working across multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, including preparing accurate tenant charges, applying incoming payments, maintaining subledger records, reconciling lease-related billing, and keeping rent schedules current.
  • Oversee accounts payable activities by maintaining vendor records, validating payment documentation, supporting tax form administration, and coordinating routine disbursement cycles.
  • Prepare and submit required local tax and regulatory filings, including business license-related documentation and property tax reporting.
  • Record daily cash activity and other accounting transactions in the general ledger to support complete and timely financial records.
  • Review, code, and post corporate credit card transactions while ensuring expenses are properly documented and recorded.
  • Support funding activities by assisting with equity contributions and debt draw requests as needed.
  • Contribute to month-end and periodic close efforts through journal entries, account analysis, and ledger maintenance.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders during the annual audit by organizing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to information requests.
