Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring the financial stability and compliance of a Federally funded Health Center. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization while applying your advanced accounting knowledge in a healthcare-focused, highly regulated environment. Any candidate considered must have FQHC expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Develop and monitor annual operating and capital budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
• Coordinate and support the completion of annual financial audits.
• Prepare Medicare Cost Reports and other required financial reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of Form 990 and other regulatory filings and grant reports.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and produce special reporting as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance accounting practices and strengthen internal controls.
• Create training materials and provide cross-training opportunities for accounting staff.
• Support process improvement initiatives across the accounting team.
