A well-established and growing real estate organization is seeking a Staff / Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role offers a unique blend of traditional accounting responsibilities, financial analysis, process improvement initiatives, and exposure to financial reporting and automation projects. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, supporting month-end close activities, analyzing financial performance, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the organization.

Title:

Staff - Senior Accountant (depending on experience

Location:
Westport, CT Potential Compensation:

$70,000 to $90,000

Responsibilties:

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Perform financial analysis and variance reporting to support business decisions Participate in monthly financial reviews and provide insights into operational performance Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Assist with tax compliance, reporting requirements, and audit requests Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and process improvements Support cash flow monitoring and financial planning activities Participate in special projects and corporate initiatives Assist in driving automation efforts using tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Alteryx, Excel, and other reporting platforms Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operational teams

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of progressive accounting experience for Staff level; additional experience preferred for Senior level consideration Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders CPA, MBA, or other professional certifications are a plus Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, Vena, or similar reporting and automation tools is highly desirable
