Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, takes initiative, and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting needs, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements. Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential. We are looking for someone who is flexible in their approach to work and able to shift focus as business needs evolve. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries (JE) and maintain the general ledger Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records Accounts Payable & Vendor Management Manage vendor setup and maintain accurate vendor records Process invoices and oversee timely payments Prepare and issue Form 1099s Maintain vendor communication and resolve discrepancies Tax & Compliance Prepare and file sales tax returns Assist with property tax filings and compliance Maintain organized documentation supporting tax filings and regulatory requirements Operational Accounting Support ongoing financial reporting needs Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency Work collaboratively with management to support financial operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting experience Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online Experience with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations Familiarity with sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and property tax compliance Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Applicants are encouraged to include a brief example of a process improvement or efficiency they introduced in a prior accounting role.
