Senior Staff Accountant

Community Concepts, a Maine non-profit that provides resources to people to help them move forward, is excited for a new opportunity to hire for a Senior Staff Accountant to work with the Finance Department. We are looking for a team player with accounting experience to join our team. This is a full-time position, based out of our Lewiston office.
Starting Pay Range:
$25.00-32.00/hour Essential Suties Produce accurate and timely program financial and allocation reports, analyzing financial information, and advising on any irregularities Participating in monthly management reviews of financial reports as well as preparing monthly journal entries, maintaining the Agency's fixed assets, and processing monthly depreciation to programs. Verifying programmatic transactions and posting appropriately, as well as reconciling monthly bank statements to support month end closing process. Maintain effective operation of fund accounting software and provide support to department and program staff as needed. Partner with Manager to prepare for annual audits and ensuring all financial and performance reports are filed in a tiemly fashion.

Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred or five to seven years of commensurate experience may be substituted for college training. Experience in non-profit is preferred
Other Requirements:
Competency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of accounting software; willingness to accept the challenge of a hectic pace; ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision; keep accurate, neat records; adapt to changing State and Federal regulations; and actively participate in the creative changes which occur; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team. Pre-employment SBI, DMV, Maine Sex Offender Registry, DHHS, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
