Full Job Description We're Hiring:
Accounting Assistant Continental Steel & Tube, a well-established steel distribution company serving the industry since 1985, is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day support to the accounting department and help ensure that financial records and transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities and Duties Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Prepare, process, and record invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation. Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations. Assist with data entry into accounting and financial systems. Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy and proper documentation. Help track outstanding customer balances and vendor payments. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets as requested. Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files. Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries. Support the accounting team with audits, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed. Maintain confidentiality of company and financial information. Qualifications Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
