About Beyond Lumber Beyond Lumber is a growing premium lumber and building materials supplier based in Gardena, California. We supply contractors, builders, architects, designers, and homeowners with premium hardwoods, decking, siding, cladding, fencing, composite materials, and related building products. We operate a busy showroom and warehouse with a large inventory of materials and are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Inventory Administrator to join our team. The Position This is a hands-on bookkeeping and inventory accounting role supporting the day-to-day financial and inventory operations of a growing distribution business. The right candidate must have previous experience with QuickBooks and inventory and be comfortable handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, purchasing, and inventory-related transactions. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required due to regular communication with employees, vendors, customers, and warehouse personnel. Previous experience in a lumber yard, building-materials company, wholesale/distribution business, warehouse, manufacturing company, or other inventory-based business is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Enter and reconcile vendor bills, customer payments, credits, refunds, and other transactions Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts Work with purchase orders, vendor invoices, receiving records, and inventory transactions Monitor and reconcile inventory records Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies Coordinate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure physical inventory matches system records Assist with inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and physical inventory counts Track product costs, freight, shipping, and other inventory-related expenses Help maintain accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory valuation Maintain organized vendor and customer records Assist with month-end reconciliations and financial reporting Identify accounting and inventory discrepancies and work with management to resolve them Communicate effectively in English and Spanish with employees, vendors, customers, and warehouse staff Help improve bookkeeping and inventory-control processes as the company continues to grow Requirements Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience QuickBooks experience is required Previous inventory experience is required Fluency in English and Spanish is required Strong understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping Experience with purchase orders, vendor invoices, receiving, and inventory transactions Understanding of inventory reconciliation and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to identify and investigate accounting and inventory discrepancies Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments Must be able to work full-time on-site in Gardena, California Must be available to work 7:00 AM-3:00 PM Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is a strong plus: Lumber or building materials Wholesale or distribution Warehouse operations Importing Construction materials Manufacturing Multi-location inventory Freight and landed-cost tracking

$30.00 per hour
