Job Description
Bookkeeping/AP The Steamship Authority is currently seeking to fill the position of Bookkeeping/AP at the Steamship Authority's Falmouth administrative office location. This is a full-time, non-union position working Monday through Friday.
Position Function:
To process and record all activity affecting Steamship Authority bank accounts and maintain the status of these accounts on a daily basis to maximize Authority's cash flow and the processing of Accounts Payable vouchers.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the recording of daily cash receipts within the accounting computer systems and generating appropriate reports.
- Process accounts receivable checks and deposits.
- Deposit check via electronic uploads.
- Maintain computer files and reconcile credit cards and check returns.
- Record bank account transfers.
- Enter ticket refunds, expense vouchers and customer adjustments.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory control records for vessel fuel, utilizing excel and Continia software.
- Responsible for processing utility bills and account reconciliation.
- Promote and support continuous improvement with SQMS.
- Perform other special projects and duties as required by the supervisor.
