Accounts Payable Specialist Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounts payable operations, accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor account management. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounts payable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reports. Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiency Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships; respond to and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies. Generate weekly AP aging reports and provide regular recaps to management. Schedule vendor payments and ensure compliance with company payment policies. Perform vendor account analysis, credit checks, and complete credit applications as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, general ledger, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors, colleagues, and leadership. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
