Job Description
Job Overview An established automotive manufacturing company is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist for its Smithville, TN facility. This role manages customer billing, cash applications, collections, account reconciliations, and supports month-end closing and audit activities. Responsibilities Generate and distribute accurate customer invoices, apply cash payments (ACH, wire, check, lockbox), and manage collections. Reconcile customer accounts, maintain AR aging schedules, and reconcile the AR subledger to the general ledger monthly. Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short-pays, chargebacks, and unapplied cash in coordination with internal teams. Assist with month-end AR closing, periodic journal entries, monthly intercompany debit/credit files, and annual 1099 processing. Provide documentation for internal/external audits and assist with annual physical inventory activities as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's/Associate's degree in Accounting/Business with 1-3 years of experience preferred. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, general ledger reconciliations, and basic manufacturing operations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience using accounting/ERP software. High degree of organization, detail-oriented problem-solving, and ability to complete projects on time. Ability to work in an upstairs office environment
