NBHS/NLRHA
complies with laws and regulations and is ethical in fulfilling its overall mission to provide safe, affordable housing. The Compliance Officer is responsible for conducting reviews of all agency program components including the Housing Choice Voucher Program, Project-Based Voucher Program, and some central office administrative components; providing reports related to agency program participant files, financial records, policies, and procedures to assure compliance with housing authority, HUD and State rules and regulations. The Compliance Officer tracks and monitors program compliance with the admission and continued participation process; contacts program staff, participants, vendors, and stakeholders as necessary to investigate allegations of non-compliance; updates and monitors web-based HUD reports.
Minimum Qualifications :
B.A. degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a combination of related education and experience; background and experience demonstrating a strong work ethic and ability to work as team member; demonstrated strong communication skills, both orally and written; experience demonstrating the ability to analyze details carefully, troubleshoot and recommend a corrective action to program management and executive director; ability to draft a compliance plan; experience demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines; above average computer skills, specifically Excel; experience with and knowledge of related HUD programs preferred; must be able to organize priorities and work independently while meeting goals. Candidates must be flexible to work outside of normal work hours including evenings and weekends when needed; must be willing and able to attend extensive training opportunities both online and in person (some out of state travel); must possess a valid AR driver's license and personal dependable transportation to travel to various agency offices.
