Respond with Compassionate Action As a Domestic Field Finance Specialist, you'll play a vital role in bringing hope and stability to communities impacted by disaster. You will process payment requests, reimburse expenses, and provide financial guidance to keep recovery and rebuilding efforts moving forward. At times, this may even mean serving directly on disaster deployments or long-term rebuild projects. Use your financial skills to make a lasting difference. In the role of Domestic Field Finance Specialist , you will have the opportunity to: Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Advise Finance leadership on budget performance, project commitments, and financial challenges within assigned field offices, while maintaining a strong understanding of Samaritan's Purse projects and activities to provide informed financial guidance. Ensure financial accuracy and accountability by reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual transactions for proper coding and maintaining PeopleSoft FSCM Project Costing data to accurately track restricted funds and disaster relief projects. Strengthen stewardship and internal controls by traveling to field sites to assess compliance with ministry finance and procurement policies, communicate findings, and help field teams maintain sound financial practices. Support disaster response and field operations by deploying as needed to establish internal controls, safeguard financial instruments, provide financial reporting, and assist staff with ERP system training. Promote compliance and responsible stewardship by ensuring adherence to IRS expense and taxable-benefit regulations and researching appropriate sales and use tax exemptions for states where Samaritan's Purse operates. Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified in the job description. What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and two (2) years of related Accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam candidates seeking to meet work experience requirements for licensure are encouraged, but not required, to do so. Thorough knowledge of Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong understanding of accounting internal controls and ability to establish appropriate segregation of duties outside of a traditional office environment. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Experience or thorough knowledge of accounting transactions, preparing and maintaining a variety of forms, records, reports, and documentation. Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work with a diverse team in a pressured environment with flexibility and adaptability.
