Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic manufacturing organization in Fort Myers, Florida. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and manage a skilled accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial consolidations, month-end close processes, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Handle financial consolidations across multiple entities and prepare detailed consolidated financial statements.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate banking transactions involving multiple accounts and maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
- Monitor and manage fixed assets, including recording and tracking depreciation.
- Collaborate with external parties to record tax provisions and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Lead and manage audits, including mid-year audits, ensuring thorough preparation and timely execution.
- Provide leadership to the accounting team, managing five direct reports and a total team of nine.
- Produce financial reports on a semi-annual basis, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Utilize expertise in manufacturing accounting to align financial processes with industry standards. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in financial consolidations and international accounting practices.
- Strong proficiency in month-end close activities and preparation of financial statements.
- Experience managing fixed assets and monthly reconciliations, including bank accounts and balance sheets.
- Familiarity with QAD or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering collaboration and productivity.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial operations.
