This pivotal role involves overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support the family's wealth management objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in diverse accounting disciplines, including corporate, governmental, non-profit, and international accounting standards, combined with exceptional leadership capabilities. Duties Manage and oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Ensure regulatory compliance by managing regulatory reporting requirements for both domestic and international operations Supervise and develop the accounting team to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency in financial processes Oversee the financial close process, including month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion Conduct cost accounting analysis for real estate assets to optimize expense management and investment returns Implement and maintain accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar software to streamline financial operations and data analysis Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliation activities for balance sheets and general ledger accounts Manage treasury functions including forecasting cash flow needs, managing banking relationships, and optimizing treasury management strategies Support budgeting processes by preparing financial forecasts and variance analyses to inform strategic decision-making Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory frameworks relevant to family office operations Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred Extensive experience in financial accounting within real estate or family office environments; experience with non-profit, governmental, or international accounting is highly desirable Deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, regulatory compliance accounting standards, and technical accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping and debits & credits Proven expertise in managing accounting teams with strong leadership skills in finance team management Proficiency with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential Strong understanding of internal controls including SOX compliance and regulatory reporting requirements Experience with cost accounting analysis, budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting processes Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data into clear reports for stakeholders Knowledge of international accounting practices and experience working within multi-jurisdictional frameworks is a plus Join us as a Controller to shape the future of our real estate investments through innovative financial strategies.
