Missoula Bone & Joint Job Description Athletic Trainer Athletic Trainer Covers all aspects of Sports Medicine treatment outside of the clinical setting to include but not limited to: assessment, evaluation, prevention, therapeutic exercise, treating, and proper referral of athletes of all ages and abilities. 1. Designs and implements plan of care based on patient function, diagnosis, treatment, self-management and access to health care resources. Documents evaluations and plan of care. Delivers physical care to patients including monitoring of patient response and results during care. Instructs and educates on proper therapeutic and injury prevention exercises. Instructs patient and/or family members in treatment, activities and home care. Provides education to patients and family members, sports groups regarding health maintenance, normal body functions, injury prevention, strength and conditioning. Provide first-aid whenever needed. Assist with fitting of braces both off the shelf and custom made. Assist with wound care/dressing changes.
