Job Description
Chickering Elementary School is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to work with students in grades K-5. RBTs implement the principles of ABA throughout the day and are expected to lead academic small groups, run discrete trial instruction sessions, provide support to build social and emotional skills, and provide inclusion support. Data collection on student progress as well as behavioral support is also an extremely important aspect of this role.
RBT's will receive support and direction from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and special education staff.
Responsibilities:
- Data Collection as instructed.
- Behavioral support per student plans.
- To supervise, nurture, and support students.
- Facilitate classroom activities in support of students' academic, social/emotional, and behavioral learning needs.
- Ensure inclusion services and accommodations are consistently provided to students per their disability related needs.
- Implement and collect data for designated academic learning activities and positive behavior support plans.
- Communicate with general education staff and special education staff regarding student progress.
- Take initiative by collaborating and communicating with staff.
Covering for educators as assigned by administration. - Other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
Qualifications - Bachelor-level coursework in the field of education or a related area.
- Registered Behavior Technician course completed.
- Experience supporting students using strategies for differentiated instruction.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to educational equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Understanding of child development and social-emotional needs
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Drive for continuous learning and improvement
Salary:
$29.00 per hour plus a $2,700 stipend ($1,000 additional stipend for candidates who hold a current DESE Educator License).
