Dental Insurance and Treatment Coordinator

Job Description

Our growing, high-end fee-for-service dental practice is seeking an experienced, motivated, and patient-focused Dental Insurance & Treatment Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for someone with dental experience who is eager to grow professionally, values exceptional patient care, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, confident discussing treatment and finances, and passionate about helping patients navigate their dental care. Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated performance. Responsibilities Verify dental insurance benefits and accurately document coverage information Submit and track insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and pre-treatment estimates Follow up on outstanding claims and insurance reimbursements Present treatment plans and financial arrangements to patients with confidence and professionalism Educate patients on insurance benefits, out-of-pocket expenses, and available payment options Generate and review treatment plans in Dentrix based on doctor recommendations Communicate effectively with patients regarding recommended treatment and scheduling Understand and explain deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, limitations, exclusions, and coinsurance Clearly communicate the advantages of receiving care in our out-of-network practice Coordinate treatment scheduling to maximize patient acceptance and practice efficiency Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally Assist with patient check-in, check-out, and administrative support as needed Obtain and update patient information, insurance details, and demographic information Schedule appointments appropriately, including emergency appointments Monitor unscheduled treatment and follow up with patients regarding outstanding care Help fill open schedule time utilizing treatment and hygiene priority lists Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies Prepare daily reports and end-of-day documentation Support practice goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) Qualifications Minimum 2 year of dental office experience with dental insurance verification, claims processing, and treatment presentation required Dentrix experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate) Strong understanding of dental terminology and common dental procedures Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to exceptional patient care What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Supportive, team-focused culture Modern, high-end clinical environment The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives every day
