The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical dental procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional dental care in a welcoming environment that prioritizes patient comfort and health. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA and infection prevention policies. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to assist in comprehensive patient management. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and acting as a liaison between patients and the dental team. Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records. Ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards through aseptic techniques and proper dental instrument processing. Support general dentistry procedures with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry experience. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix for efficient patient management. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support during various treatments. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members alike. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health care practices. Experience with imaging devices such as 3D scanners is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention policies aligned with HIPAA compliance standards.
