Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Hours Monday-Thursday 6:15 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting for general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take x-rays of areas of concern as ordered by Doctor on site. Manage patient records by documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans in Eaglesoft. Educate patients on post-treatment care. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation. Maintain equipment and instruments, ensuring they are properly sterilized and ready for use. Demonstrate superb customer service skills. Phone in prescriptions as needed. Keep the operatories stocked and tidy. Prepare treatment estimates for patients and all required attachments/documentation for claims on patients seen that day. Walk patients to the front desk, ensuring they have no further questions and confirming future treatment and appointments. Monitor patients referred out, scan referral correspondence and update patients chart after referral has been completed. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with familiarity in dental clinic operations. Proficiency in Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology and infection control practices. Experience with chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry. Ability to take x-rays and familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to handle medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.
