Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for procedures in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, Lanap, and oral surgeries by handing instruments and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or pediatric requirements to ensure safe treatment planning. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-procedure care, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental wellness. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and coordinating follow-up visits to ensure smooth clinic operations. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery preferred. Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment operation (including dental sterilization procedures), and infection prevention management. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with dental instruments processing, sterilization protocols, and infection control policies aligned with healthcare standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology related to oral health conditions.
