Job Description
Great Expressions Dental Center - NY is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventive and periodontal care in a modern, patient-focused practice. Responsibilities include dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, radiographs, sealants, fluoride treatments, periodontal charting, and assisting with diagnosis and treatment planning. You will educate patients on oral hygiene, collaborate closely with dentists and assistants, and maintain accurate clinical records. Responsibilities Provide dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing Take, process, and evaluate dental radiographs Perform periodontal charting and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Apply sealants and fluoride; provide other preventive services Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and post-treatment care Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Follow infection control and sterilization protocols Collaborate with dentists and clinical team for coordinated patient care Monitor and report patient conditions and treatment responses Support a patient-first, professional, and compliant clinical environment Required Skills Dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy Scaling and root planing Dental radiography and imaging Periodontal assessment and charting Local anesthesia and nitrous monitoring (where permitted) Infection control and sterilization Electronic dental records (EHR/Dentrix/Eaglesoft or similar) Patient education and communication Sealant and fluoride application Clinical documentation and charting
