Job Description

Associate General Dentist Wanted — Come Practice Great Dentistry (and Actually Have a Life) Cowlitz River Dental | Washington State Here's the pitch: incredible clinical variety, a supportive team that's got your back, and a hometown that feels like it was designed for people who'd rather spend the weekend on a river than stuck in traffic. We're looking for an Associate General Dentist to join us at Cowlitz River Dental — and we'd love for that person to be you. Why This Town Might Just Surprise You We know what you might be picturing when you hear "small town dental practice." Let us change your mind. We're tucked into the kind of place where you can paddle the Cowlitz River after your last patient, be on a mountain trail by the weekend, and still make it to a Trail Blazers game or catch a flight out of PDX without a second thought. Portland is about an hour south. Seattle isn't much further north. So you get big-city concerts, restaurants, and airports whenever you want them — without living in the middle of them. What you get every single day, though, is different: neighbors who know your name, a genuine sense of community, and some of the best outdoor access in the Pacific Northwest. Rivers for fishing and floating. Mountains for hiking, skiing, and everything in between. Lakes for the lazy weekends. And a cost of living that means your paycheck actually stretches — try owning a home with a yard here instead of a shoebox in the city. If you've ever wanted a life where "I'll go for a hike after work" is actually realistic, this is that place. What You'll Actually Be Doing This isn't a hygiene-check-and-move-on kind of role. We practice comprehensive, high-quality general dentistry, and you'll get to use the full range of your training: Building real relationships with patients through thorough exams and personalized treatment planning A full scope of general dentistry: exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and prosthodontics More advanced procedures too — extractions, root canals, implants, oral surgery, and orthodontics Explaining diagnoses and options in a way patients actually understand and feel good about Working four-handed with a team that knows how to keep things efficient and comfortable Documenting care in Dentrix (no wrestling with clunky systems) Staying sharp and current — we support you learning new techniques and technology, not just doing the same thing forever What We're Looking For A valid Washington State dental license (or eligibility to obtain one) Solid clinical experience and confidence across basic general dentistry Genuine, compassionate communication skills — patients should leave feeling informed and cared for. Collaborative, team-oriented attitude when it comes to working with other Doctors and Staff A sound understanding of infection control, HIPAA, and Washington State healthcare regulations Pediatric dentistry experience is a nice bonus The Bottom Line Great clinical work. A team that actually likes each other. A community that'll welcome you in. And a location that gives you the best of both worlds — city access when you want it, small-town peace when you don't. Come see why the people who move here tend to stay. Interested? Let's talk.
