Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dietary Cook, where your passion for food and dedication to healthful, delicious meals will make a meaningful difference in our facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing dishes tailored to dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your expertise in food preparation, menu planning, and culinary techniques will help create a welcoming environment that promotes wellness and satisfaction for all residents. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established recipes, dietary guidelines, and menu plans with precision and creativity. Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere strictly to food safety management and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, poaching pots, braising pans, and other culinary tools. Assist in menu planning by suggesting nutritious options that meet dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain high-volume production standards while ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. Support the dietary department by managing food production schedules and ensuring timely meal service. Uphold food safety standards through proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods or catering events. Experience Proven experience as a cook or dietary aide in a healthcare facility, restaurant, or catering environment. Strong knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations. Demonstrated culinary skills including grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production. Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Background in food industry settings with an emphasis on dietary needs or fine dining is preferred. Excellent knife skills and ability to prepare meals with precision and attention to detail. Pay:
$13.99 - $14.00 per hour
