GD Dietary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality care to individuals in a psychiatric setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with patients with mental health conditions, possess a deep understanding of the relationship between nutrition and mental health, and be committed to improving the overall well-being of our patients through nutritional care and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Nutrition Assessments:
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients with psychiatric conditions, developing individualized goals that address nutritional needs and contribute to overall mental health and recovery. Collaboration with
Healthcare Team:
Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into treatment plans, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
Nutritional Education & Counseling:
As needed, provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling sessions to educate patients on healthy eating habits, food choices, and lifestyle modifications that can support mental health and overall well-being. Support for
Food-Related Issues:
Address food-related challenges such as medication side effects, appetite changes, or eating disorders, and provide counseling to help patients manage these issues in the context of their psychiatric condition.
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited program. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Experience:
Experience working in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting is preferred but not necessary. Previous experience with clinical nutrition assessments is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental care to patients with mental health conditions. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail. Ability to stay up-to-date with advances in clinical nutrition and mental health.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with tasks related to patient care.
