About the Role We are seeking a Food Service Dietitian to support the delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and patient-centered meals within a healthcare or institutional food service environment. The Food Service Dietitian will work closely with food service leadership, culinary staff, nursing, clinical teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure menus and food service operations meet nutritional, regulatory, quality, and patient satisfaction standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable balancing clinical nutrition responsibilities with food service operations. Key Responsibilities Develop, review, analyze, and revise menus to ensure nutritional adequacy, variety, quality, and compliance with applicable dietary requirements and regulations. Collaborate with Food Service Directors, Registered Dietitians, culinary staff, and clinical teams regarding menu planning and implementation. Develop and maintain standardized recipes, recipe books, and other food service documentation. Ensure recipes and production practices are consistent with approved menus and nutritional standards. Monitor and document food substitutions, menu issues, and other food service concerns, and assist with corrective actions as needed. Conduct regular reviews of kitchen, food storage, refrigeration, sanitation, and food safety practices. Review food, refrigerator, and equipment temperature logs for accuracy and compliance. Conduct routine kitchen and food service inspections and maintain appropriate documentation. Participate in tray-line operations and meal service to monitor food quality, portioning, presentation, and patient satisfaction. Taste food and evaluate meals for quality, appearance, consistency, and overall acceptability. Respond to patient and resident nutrition-related concerns and collaborate with nursing and food service staff to address issues. Provide nutrition and food service education and conduct regular in-service training for food service employees. Develop and maintain annual training schedules and educational materials. Maintain and periodically update diet manuals, nutrition resources, and food service policies and procedures. Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, including patient satisfaction surveys, meal rounds, test trays, data collection, and reporting. Monitor food acceptance and patient satisfaction and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, including food service, infection prevention, quality assurance, pharmacy/therapeutics, and other applicable committees. Provide clinical nutrition support and coverage as needed, including assessment and follow-up of patients/residents based on facility needs. Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company, facility, and regulatory requirements. Support compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and facility-specific food service, nutrition, sanitation, and healthcare regulations. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field required. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure, as applicable. Experience in healthcare, long-term care, senior living, hospital, or institutional food service preferred.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
