Chesprocott Health District seeks an organized, dependable professional to coordinate public health emergency preparedness activities for Connecticut Public Health Emergency Preparedness Region 2 and Chesprocott Health District. The coordinator also leads the Chesprocott Medical Reserve Corps and works closely with local health departments and districts, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, healthcare organizations, and community partners. The coordinator will cross-train in other Chesprocott Health District programs and may take on additional leadership or management responsibilities based on the District's needs and the employee's qualifications and performance. Main Responsibilities Manage Region 2 preparedness contracts, reports, invoices, reimbursements, grant requirements, and deadlines. Track subcontractor deliverables and follow up on missing information, documentation, or requirements. Plan and coordinate regional meetings, trainings, drills, and emergency preparedness exercises. Prepare required exercise documentation, including Notices of Exercise and After-Action Reports. Maintain regional communication and response systems, including Everbridge and WebEOC. Update regional and Chesprocott emergency response plans, procedures, and related annexes. Support Chesprocott Health District during public health emergencies and response activities. Recruit, manage, train, and communicate with Medical Reserve Corps volunteers. Maintain accurate records, volunteer rosters, training logs, meeting minutes, and required reports. Attend required regional and state preparedness meetings and provide timely updates to leadership and partners. Create and deliver public health presentations, trainings, educational materials, and outreach resources for community and professional audiences. Coordinate and collaborate with local health departments and districts, regional coalitions, and state agencies to complete emergency preparedness grant deliverables. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Health. Required Qualifications Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn systems such as WebEOC, Everbridge, CT Responds, state reporting platforms, and social media platforms. Ability to travel within the region and work outside normal business hours when exercises or emergencies require it. Preferred Qualifications Education or professional experience in public health, emergency management, health administration, program coordination, grants management, or a related field. Master of Public Health (MPH) degree preferred. Experience coordinating grants, contracts, exercises, volunteers, or multi-agency projects. Knowledge of public health preparedness, emergency management principles, or the Incident Command System.

Pay:

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
