The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to serve as Clinical Director at Oath East Portland Surgical Center. The Clinical Director is the senior clinical leader of the center and serves as the bridge between center-level operations and the broader organization. Working in close partnership with the ASC Administrator — who holds executive leadership of the facility — the Clinical Director owns the clinical program in its entirety: nursing operations, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, staff management, and the day-to-day clinical experience of every patient and provider who walks through our doors. This is a dual-facing role. On one side, the Clinical Director maintains a visible, authoritative clinical presence in the center — engaged with surgical teams and staff, accountable for outcomes, and a trusted partner to physician owners and the medical staff. On the other, the Clinical Director participates actively in corporate-level performance discussions, contributes to strategic planning, and represents the clinical program at the organizational level. That connection between the floor and the boardroom is what makes this role distinctive. This position is well-suited for a clinically credentialed leader — most often a Registered Nurse with substantial perioperative experience — who is ready to step into full operational and clinical accountability in a high-performing ASC. What You Will Do Lead all clinical operations of the ASC, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered surgical care across all service lines Partner closely with the ASC Administrator on financial performance, regulatory compliance, center strategy, and governing body reporting — serving as the clinical voice in all operational and strategic discussions Own and actively manage clinical cost drivers including staffing efficiency, supply utilization, and implant management, contributing meaningful data and recommendations to the Administrator and finance team Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate clinical policies, procedures, and nursing protocols in alignment with evidence-based standards and accreditation requirements Chair or co-chair the center's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, driving measurable clinical outcomes and reporting results to the governing body Manage infection control, patient safety, and risk management programs, ensuring timely documentation and escalation of incidents, near misses, and adverse events Serve as the primary clinical lead for accreditation survey preparation and response in coordination with the Administrator, including all external communications with AAAHC, or other applicable accrediting bodies Recruit, supervise, develop, and retain a high-performing clinical team; manage scheduling, performance evaluations, progressive discipline, and succession planning Cultivate strong working relationships with physician partners and medical staff leadership, serving as a responsive and credible clinical resource Represent the center's clinical program in corporate-level reviews, multi-site meetings, and strategic planning discussions alongside or on behalf of the Administrator What You Bring Current RN licensure in Oregon, in good standing — required BSN required; MSN preferred Minimum 5 years of perioperative or surgical services clinical experience Minimum 2 years of clinical supervisory or management experience ASC experience strongly preferred; candidates with significant OR or surgical services leadership experience in an acute care setting will be considered Prior accreditation survey experience (AAAHC, TJC, or CMS) preferred BLS and ACLS required; CNOR, CAPA, or CPAN preferred Demonstrated ability to manage clinical staff, quality programs, and clinical cost drivers in a surgical environment Why Oath East Portland?
