Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings, including home care, assisted living, nursing homes, and group homes. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure the safety and well-being of residents or clients. Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed Support individuals with memory care needs, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other cognitive impairments Help with mobility using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and transfer techniques Prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with feeding when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks Document care activities accurately using EMR systems or other record-keeping tools Support behavioral management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce agitation Drive clients to appointments or activities when required, adhering to safety protocols Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care plans Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in long-term care environments such as nursing homes, retirement homes, or home & community care settings. Experience with assisted living facilities or personal care homes is highly valued. Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or behavioral challenges is preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR are advantageous. Prior experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, EMR systems, and mobility aids like Hoyer lifts will enhance candidacy. A background working with people with disabilities or in social work roles is also beneficial. Valid driving credentials may be required for roles involving transportation of clients.
