Duties Support residents or patients with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Observe and monitor patient conditions closely, recording vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure optimal health management. Assist with medication administration following care plans and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties, adhering to infection control standards, especially in memory care or dementia units. Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and help facilitate engagement in community activities or outings as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care that respects residents' rights and preferences. Respond promptly to emergencies by providing first aid or CPR when necessary and following hospice or home health protocols for end-of-life care situations. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in healthcare or caregiving environments such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, or home health agencies. Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or dementia is highly valued. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Additional qualifications include proficiency in patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts, understanding of resident's rights, and the ability to perform manual handling tasks safely. Previous roles involving geriatrics, hospice care, memory care or long-term care will be advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; experience working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities enhances your suitability for this role.
