Laboratory Technician (6122) Location Missoula, MT Job Code 6122 # of Openings 1 Apply Now Ghostrock, LLC , a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking Laboratory Technicians to support the USDA Forest Service's Wildland Fire Chemical Systems Laboratory at the National Technology and Development Program in Missoula, Montana. Technicians will perform controlled laboratory testing and quality-assurance activities used to evaluate wildland fire chemicals and support continued testing of qualified products. Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory procedures and prepare test equipment and samples. Select and operate appropriate analytical instruments. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Conduct scientific experiments involving wildland fire chemicals. Follow specifications, standard test procedures, project study plans, SOPs, and other written protocols. Identify acceptable and unacceptable test outcomes and elevate anomalous results. Use laboratory tools and computer programs for data collection, analysis, recordkeeping, and report writing. Support laboratory safety checks, hazardous-waste tracking, inventories, incoming-sample logs, and preparation/tracking of test materials. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or related technical field plus at least one year of experience working in a chemistry laboratory; OR at least five years of experience working in a laboratory setting without the degree. Proficiency with basic laboratory equipment and standard operating procedures. Ability to accurately follow written test methods and document results. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with firefighting chemicals, including foams, gels, and retardants. Additional Requirements Strong attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to follow all applicable safety rules, standard operating procedures, and technical requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend extended periods standing or walking. Ability to work on-site using Government-furnished facilities, equipment, and systems and to safeguard Government property.
