An Aquatic Laboratory in Sugar Land is seeking a motivated and dependable Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory Technician to join our team. This entry-level position supports environmental research activities conducted under State regulatory standards for WET testing and under GLP guidelines used to evaluate the environmental safety of agricultural and chemical products. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively alongside biologists, managers, quality assurance and interdepartmental technicians. Must be comfortable following precise procedures and documenting work carefully. Successful applicants are self-starters who work efficiently, pay close attention to detail, and thrive in a team-oriented laboratory environment. Responsibilities

• Perform aquatic toxicity testing by preparing and maintaining test chambers, solutions, and recording data and observations
• Follow SOPs, study protocols, GLP requirements, and safety procedures
• Perform routine water quality measurements
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization
• Assist with culturing and maintenance of in-house aquatic organisms
• Prioritize and complete daily tasks within required timelines
• Record observations and maintain accurate laboratory records
• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and supervisors
• Assist with general laboratory duties and maintenance Preferred Experience & Qualifications
• Aquatic culture or aquarium experience required
• Knowledge of breeding and culturing aquatic organisms such as fathead minnows, silversides, algae spp., and daphnia spp.
• General laboratory experience
• Scientific background in data recording and observations
• Marine Fisheries degree or related field
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Comfortable communicating and collaborating with coworkers Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and carry buckets of water up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lift 80-pound bags of salt when needed
• Ability to bend, reach, and kneel Schedule
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM
• 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break
• Rotating weekend and holiday schedule required
