We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a middle school student in a school setting on a full-time contract basis for the 2026-27 academic year. This assignment offers an opportunity to make a significant impact, providing individualized medical care while fostering a supportive learning environment. This school-based LPN position features a weekday schedule of 37.5 hours per week, aligning with the assigned school calendar for the duration of the academic year. The primary responsibility is to provide 1:1 nursing care for a 7th grade student requiring tracheostomy care and suctioning, while ensuring safety and comfort throughout the school day.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Minnesota LPN license in good standing Current CPR/AED certification At least 2 years of experience working with pediatric populations, especially those with tracheostomies or complex medical needs Experience in school, pediatric, or home health settings is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized nursing care to a student with a trach tube; perform trach monitoring and suctioning as prescribed Closely follow and document all care per the students healthcare plan Accompany and support the student on the school bus, ensuring safe transportation to and from school Work proactively within a multidisciplinary educational team, including Health Services staff and the students family Maintain accurate daily nursing records and communication logs This contract role offers the chance to work regular daytime hours and be a vital resource in a supportive environment.
