Job Description

Mercy is seeking a compassionate LPN for our Heartcare Clinic. In this role, you'll support cardiology providers by rooming patients, obtaining histories, monitoring vitals, and performing EKGs and other ordered tests. You'll administer medications, provide cardiac-focused patient education, and document accurately in the EHR. The LPN will coordinate appointments, support procedures, and ensure a safe, efficient clinic flow. At Mercy, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in ongoing training, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered heart care in a supportive, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain histories, and collect vital signs for cardiology visits Perform EKGs and assist with cardiac diagnostic procedures as ordered Administer medications and injections following provider orders and protocols Provide cardiac-focused patient education and discharge instructions Document all care, assessments, and interventions in the EHR accurately and timely Triage patient calls and symptoms, escalating concerns to providers as needed Coordinate appointments, tests, and follow-up care with the heartcare team Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies according to infection control standards Support cardiologists and advanced practice providers during in-clinic procedures Participate in ongoing training and quality initiatives to improve heartcare outcomes Required Skills Vital signs monitoring Cardiac rhythm recognition Medication administration EKG/ECG performance Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Phlebotomy and specimen collection Patient triage and phone advice Care coordination and scheduling Infection control practices Clinical equipment operation in cardiology
