Job Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Overnight LPN/RN Floor Nurse, working from 7pm to 7am to provide exceptional nursing care in a vibrant and supportive environment. In this vital role, you will deliver compassionate patient-centered care, ensure safety and comfort for residents, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote health and well-being. Your expertise will help create a warm, safe, and healing atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for around the clock. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor residents' vital signs during overnight shifts to promptly identify changes in condition. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict protocols and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Manage acute pain, assist with wound care including suturing, and support complex medical procedures such as catheterizations and ostomy care. Respond swiftly to emergencies by implementing airway management, ventilator support, or initiating critical care protocols aligned with Level I Trauma Center standards. Document all patient interactions thoroughly, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Collaborate with physicians, specialists (including ophthalmology or hospice teams), and other healthcare providers to coordinate care plans. Support residents with memory care needs, behavioral health issues, or those requiring long-term or post-acute care, including discharge planning and case management. Experience Proven experience in a nursing home setting. Prior work in long-term care facilities or nursing homes demonstrates strong understanding of geriatrics and dementia/dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth enhances workflow efficiency. Critical care experience involving ventilator management, infectious disease control, or trauma medicine is advantageous. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, and specimen processing is preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays adds value to resident-centered care delivery. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and relevant state licensure are required to ensure safe practice standards.
