Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and cleaning schedules. Basic arithmetic skills including the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers for inventory and supply management. Physical capability to perform repetitive motions, balance, and reach with hands and arms as required by janitorial duties. Experience with janitorial duties or custodial work in a similar environment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and consistently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in an educational or institutional setting. Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and sustainable janitorial practices. Certification in workplace safety or custodial training programs. Basic knowledge of minor maintenance and repair techniques. Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors and surfaces throughout the facility. Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure all fixtures are in proper working order. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent hazards and maintain compliance with health standards. Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials in designated areas in a timely and efficient manner. Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, reporting repair needs, and setting up rooms for events or classes. Read and interpret cleaning schedules, safety instructions, and maintenance documents to ensure tasks are completed accurately. Communicate effectively with supervisors and staff to coordinate cleaning activities and respond to special requests.
