Part-Time Nalu Healing Arts is an established integrative wellness center in San Diego, and we're looking for an experienced Deep Tissue Massage Therapist to join our growing team. Deep tissue massage is a core requirement for this position. We're looking for a therapist who is confident working with clients seeking therapeutic massage for chronic tension, pain, restricted movement, recovery, and stress, and who can provide deeper, focused work safely and effectively.

THE POSITION

This is a part-time W-2 employee position with the opportunity to build your schedule and client base over time. Evening and weekend availability is required. You'll be supported by an established wellness center with front desk support, online scheduling, marketing and client acquisition, fully equipped treatment rooms, supplies, linens, and an existing community.

DEEP TISSUE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Please apply only if you are genuinely proficient in deep tissue massage. Our clients frequently request deeper therapeutic work, and we need a therapist who is comfortable providing sustained, intentional pressure and addressing specific areas of muscular tension and restriction. You should be comfortable adapting pressure to the individual while maintaining excellent body mechanics, communication, and clinical awareness. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their deep tissue technique during a practical portion of the interview process. Experience in any of the following is also valuable: Myofascial release Trigger point therapy Sports massage Neuromuscular techniques Assisted stretching Injury and recovery focused bodywork Additional specialties are welcome and can be a great addition to our team, but they do not replace the deep tissue requirement for this particular position.

Applicants must: Hold a current California massage therapy certification Be confident working with clients experiencing pain and chronic muscular tension Have excellent communication skills around pressure, comfort, boundaries, and treatment goals Provide consistent, high quality bodywork Be warm, grounded, dependable, and professional Value collaboration with acupuncturists and other wellness practitioners Understand the importance of client retention and continuity of care Be available evenings and weekends Be interested in steadily building a consistent client schedule
