Full Job Description Job Responsibilities:
In this position you will work as an integral part of our team, responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following: Triaging patient, including vital signs Routinely assists provider with patient exams, prepares exam rooms for specific procedures. Performing patient intake documentation in EMR Taking patient x-rays Fitting, patient education, and assisting in dispensing of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Completion of patient documents and returning of patient voicemails Consenting and educating patients on retail, procedures, and durable medical equipment Maintains exam rooms by cleaning and stocking rooms as necessary, preparing non-disposable instruments for sterilization. Assist in scheduling patient appointments/rescheduling and cancelling appointments as necessary. Processes incoming phone calls, by answering promptly and directing call to appropriate person. Takes accurate messages and delivers message or tasks to appropriate person. Assists in the billing process by collecting and posting payments for services, preparing superbills with proper information prior to appointment, updating financial and personal information of patient at each visit and as requested, entering correct insurance and demographic information into computer at each visit
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Certified Medical Assistant CMA or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant CCMA (preferred) Past medical assistant experience (preferred) Bilingual or multilingual (preferred) Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred) Experience with EMR Oral and written communication skills required in dealing with patients, co-workers, and public Basic computer skills, understanding a windows environment required or must be willing to learn PC competencies as required for the position Dependable and punctual Customer service oriented, responding promptly to patient's needs Detail oriented Ability to provide verbal feedback in a professional manner Ability to read and understand instructions and react favorably in all work situations Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, developing alternative solutions, and gather and analyze information in a skillful manner Ability to plan and prioritize work priorities using time efficiently Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to promote quality and efficiency, while monitoring own work for accuracy Ability to handle frequent changes and interruptions, delays, and unexpected events, working well under pressure Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety
