Job Description
Responsible for retrieving/providing charts for multiple requestors. Responsible for prepping, scanning, quality control and validation of inpatient and outpatient paper medical records into Cerner Millennium. Performs scanning process according to department procedures and maintains set up for scanners to ensure optimal image quality and communicates scanner maintenance issues to supervisor as needed. Troubleshoot routine scanning software and hardware issues. Processes timely all documents and/or reports as requested by physicians and/or supervisor, manager, or director of the department. Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and six to twelve months of previous work related experience plus three to six months of on the job training and orientation. One year of HIM/MR or health care facility experience preferred. Work requires the ability to read and understand instructions and to make comparisons between numbers and letters.
