Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, outgoing and dependable Optical Receptionist to join our boutique optometry practice. Our office specializes in comprehensive optometry, high quality eyewear, and advanced dry eye treatments, with a strong focus on providing an exceptional, personalized experience for every patient. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk. Schedule patient appointments accurately using Crystal PM EHR. Answering phones, making appointments and texting. Communicate with patients using professional phone/texting etiquette. Perform medical billing tasks, collect and process payments, and manage collections efficiently. Communicate with and provide support for our optical and back office staff. Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) policies and clinical confidentiality standards. Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, report generation, and correspondence. Remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when handling patient concerns or conflicts. Take initiative to learn office procedures, products, and services. Experience We are open to hiring all experience levels, but brownie points if you have: Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health information management, and clinical confidentiality policies. Familiarity with health insurance processes including Medicare billing procedures. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Google Workspace applications and electronic health records management. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Proven ability to provide outstanding patient service while managing multiple administrative tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$17.00 - $23.00 per hour
