This is not a documentation-only role. You will be the person who makes sure every chart is ready before the provider walks in the room — imaging uploaded, prior records pulled forward, authorizations verified, consents signed — and then stays hands-on through the visit, helping set up injections, assisting with patient check-out, and fitting braces. We move fast and we care about details. If you like being the person who catches the thing everyone else missed, this is a good fit.
A note on experience:
you do not need an orthopedic, spine, or pain management background — we will teach you our specialty. But this is not an entry-level position. You should already have hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant, scribe, or in a comparable clinical role, and be comfortable in a working patient-care environment from day one. What You'll Do Chart Preparation & Documentation Prep charts ahead of each visit: confirm imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT) is uploaded and accessible, bring forward relevant history, prior injections, surgical notes, and outside records Verify insurance authorization and eligibility is in place for office visits and any planned procedures; flag missing authorizations before the patient arrives Confirm appropriate consents are completed and on file for all procedures Document patient encounters in real time in the EMR — history, exam findings, assessment, treatment plan, and follow-up instructions — with accuracy and speed Maintain complete, organized, and compliant records in accordance with HIPAA and practice policy Procedure & Clinical Support Set up rooms and trays for interventional procedures and injections; assist the provider during procedures Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections (training provided) Maintain a clean, stocked, and procedure-ready clinical environment Patient Flow & DME Assist with patient check-out, scheduling follow-ups, and coordinating next steps Fit patients for braces and other durable medical equipment; provide wear and care instructions Log DME dispensed and maintain accurate inventory and tracking records Track patients through the care pathway — imaging ordered, authorizations pending, procedures scheduled — and keep the team updated What We're Looking For Required Prior hands-on experience as a medical assistant, medical scribe, or in a comparable clinical role — this is not an entry-level position Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy Comfort and speed with computers — EMR systems, spreadsheets, and digital tracking tools Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced clinic Solid typing accuracy and speed Professional, warm bedside manner and a team-first attitude Discretion and strict adherence to patient privacy regulations High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred Experience in an orthopedic, spine, or pain management clinic Experience assisting with in-office procedures or injections Familiarity with prior authorization workflows and DME fitting Knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT) Why Join Us If you already have clinical experience and want to specialize, this is where you do it.
