West Coast Pulmonary Physicians Position Summary The Medical Typist / Provider Documentation Assistant supports West Coast Pulmonary Physicians as they round on patients at St. John's Camarillo Hospital Sub-Acute Unit. This position is responsible for assisting providers with the timely preparation, typing, and organization of patient notes and clinical documentation. The ideal candidate has completed a Medical Terminology course or holds a Medical Terminology certificate and demonstrates excellent typing, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist West Coast Pulmonary Physicians during their scheduled rounds in the Sub-Acute Unit. Prepare and type patient notes and clinical documentation for providers. Accurately document information as directed by the physicians and providers. Assist with the timely completion and organization of provider notes. Review documentation for spelling, grammar, formatting, accuracy, and completeness. Utilize appropriate medical terminology when preparing clinical documentation. Assist in organizing and managing documentation related to patient care. Communicate professionally with physicians, hospital staff, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team. Prioritize documentation and administrative tasks efficiently during physician rounds. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA, hospital policies, and all applicable privacy requirements. Perform other clerical and administrative duties in support of the physicians as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Terminology course or certificate required. Strong typing and computer skills. Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills. Ability to understand and accurately use medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, healthcare setting, medical transcription, or provider support role is preferred but not required. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Pay:
$21.50 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 18.0 per week
