Job Summary:
Performs routine duties in caring for residents and assists residents with medications under direction of nurse manager. Assists with medication and treatment services within scope of regulatory guidelines.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Two years' experience in an assisted living or skill nursing facility:
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
First Aid Certification:
Required within 30 days of hire Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required within 30 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy:
Required Essential Functions:
Assists residents with medications within scope of regulatory requirements under the supervision of the nurse manger. Acts as a departmental resource and assists in resolving problems of the unit with the nurse manager. Verifies patient identity and records medicine given, dosage and time of administration in patient medical records. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and observes patient to detect response to medication. Serves as mentor to a new caregiver by providing orientation, assisting with training and making recommendations to nursing administration and nurse manger. Participates in Quality Assurance Programs. Assists in scheduling daily assignments sheets and assures completion of all assigned charting and daily responsibilities of resident care. May assist with medication inventory or stockroom maintenance. Assists with stripping and making residents' beds, resident laundry, serving meals and bussing tables during mealtimes. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
