Job Description

Step into a role supporting student development at a vibrant middle school near Elk River, MN. This contract opportunity offers direct, hands-on experience in a center-based educational setting, working as a paraprofessional with students who benefit from dedicated academic and personal support. In this position, youll work collaboratively with educators and support staff, making a difference in students daily lives. The expectation is that all support staff, including paraprofessionals, are willing to provide assistance with toileting as needed, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for every learner. Candidates must be comfortable supporting students in center-based programs (Setting 2-3 caseloads).
Qualifications:
Must be Highly Qualified by ONE of the following methods (documentation required upon application): Successful completion of the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam) At least 60 college credits; official college transcripts required (photos or degrees not accepted) Paraprofessional experience in school settings is preferred Comfortable providing toileting assistance Strong communication and collaboration skills with students and staff
Responsibilities:
Provide academic, behavioral, and personal care support to middle school students in a center-based program Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and student engagement Foster a respectful and inclusive environment
Additional Details:
Monday through Friday, 32.5 hours per week Assignment duration approximately 8/31/2026 11/29/2026, with the potential to convert to direct hire after 422 contracting hours Competitive pay: $20/hr This role is ideal for candidates passionate about supporting diverse learners and seeking a pathway to a direct-hire role in a reputable district.
