Horowitz Health is looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our IRTS team in Fridley, MN . Our Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) programs provide 24/7 support to adults working toward greater stability and independence. The Lead Behavioral Health Practitioner provides direct client services while also serving as a resource, mentor, and point of support for the Behavioral Health Practitioner team. This role works closely with the Program Director, Treatment Director, Mental Health Professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support quality client care, staff development, documentation, programming, and daily operations.

Program Director/Treatment Director Schedule This position requires flexibility based on program and staffing needs. The Lead Behavioral Health Practitioner must be available to work second-shift hours and weekends as required and provide backup coverage for open shifts when operationally necessary. What You'll Do As the Lead Behavioral Health Practitioner, you will provide direct behavioral health services while helping support the day-to-day work of the BHP team.
Responsibilities include:
Provide client education, rehabilitative mental health services, skill building, and crisis support. Complete functional assessments, level-of-care assessments, treatment planning, and other required clinical documentation within the scope of the position. Monitor client progress and support continuity of care. Help assign BHPs to clients and support balanced caseloads. Develop and maintain structured group programming and curriculum. Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Behavioral Health Practitioners and other direct-care staff. Coordinate onboarding and training for newly hired BHPs. Lead monthly BHP staff meetings focused on communication, education, and quality improvement. Monitor timely and accurate clinical documentation and help maintain program and regulatory compliance. Support the program's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Work closely with program leadership to coordinate staffing and daily operations. Assist with maintaining appropriate staffing coverage and provide backup coverage for open shifts when needed. Collaborate with Mental Health Professionals, Program Directors, Treatment Directors, and other interdisciplinary team members. Qualifications Candidates must meet the requirements to qualify as a Behavioral Health Practitioner under applicable Minnesota standards. Based on the current Horowitz Health job description, qualifying pathways include relevant behavioral-science coursework and experience, qualifying work experience, or a graduate degree in a behavioral science or related field. We are especially looking for someone who: Has experience working in behavioral health, mental health, or residential treatment. Is comfortable providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to other staff. Has strong communication and documentation skills. Can balance direct client care with leadership and operational responsibilities. Is dependable and able to adjust to the needs of a 24/7 residential program. Can work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership. Is comfortable helping with staffing needs across shifts.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to meet all applicable training and qualification requirements for the position.
