A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

Music Therapy Pathways-Creative Arts Therapy, PLLC is currently seeking 2 full time Board-Certified Music Therapists. These positions are based in multiple school districts with children with developmental disabilities in grades K-12. The location of the schools are in and around Batavia, NY; Bergen, NY; Pavilion, NY; Warsaw, NY. Mileage is reimbursed. The Music Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing a music therapy program designed to meet the needs of each individual student, maintaining all necessary and appropriate records, communicating with teachers and parents and adhering to existing goals and objectives in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Qualifications:
Board-Certified Music Therapist Skilled musician, strong in voice and guitar Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license Must be highly dependable and reliable with strong work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills Newly certified applicants welcome
