Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, care planning, and medication management, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee clinical documentation accuracy within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address complex medical needs such as IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and dementia care. Ensure all nursing staff adhere to state healthcare regulations and agency policies related to long-term care, acute care, and skilled nursing services. Facilitate effective communication across teams through managerial communication strategies while managing staffing schedules to optimize resource allocation. Monitor quality metrics related to patient assessment accuracy, medication administration, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards. Qualifications Current RN licensure with active state registration; prior management or supervisory experience in a home health or similar setting is required. Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience with hospital medicine or emergency medicine is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding and medical terminology is essential. Extensive clinical experience in areas such as dialysis, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), or long-term care settings. Strong knowledge of physical examinations, vital signs assessment, specimen collection/processing, and infection control protocols. Proven leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within regulated healthcare environments; excellent communication skills are vital for effective team management. Ability to interpret diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory results or medical imaging; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with familiarity with managed care concepts like DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) billing or utilization review processes.
