Job Description
Encompass Health seeks a Rehabilitation OT Team Leader to guide a team of occupational therapists in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. You will balance direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring therapists, coordinating interdisciplinary treatment plans, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based interventions. In this role, you will oversee caseload management, documentation standards, and outcome tracking while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on functional recovery and safe discharge. Ideal candidates bring strong clinical skills, communication, and a passion for coaching others. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate a team of occupational therapists to deliver high-quality inpatient rehabilitation services. Develop, implement, and update individualized OT treatment plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team. Provide direct patient care, including functional assessments, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. Coach, mentor, and support team members through case reviews, feedback, and skill development. Ensure documentation, care plans, and outcome measures meet clinical, regulatory, and Encompass Health standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT, and speech therapy to optimize functional outcomes and patient satisfaction. Monitor caseloads, productivity, and quality metrics, recommending improvements to workflows and processes. Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies for safe community reintegration. Support orientation and training of new OT staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and evidence-based practice.
