Primary Responsibilities:
The C.N.A is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a loving and safe environment for all of our residents, while helping each of them to achieve their maximum potential. We will empower our staff by providing them with a motivating and supportive work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1) Provide ADL assistance to assigned residents in SLP/Memory Support in accordance with the resident individualized service plan; such duties shall include, but not limited to, assisting residents with dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, toileting, ambulating, transferring, escorts to dining area, medication reminder, assistance with social reassurance. Also assist with tidy ups, garbage, laundry, and linens, make beds and change linens. 2) Report all unusual/unexpected resident condition changes to Director of Nursing/Assigned Manager, this includes behavior changes. 3) Respond to all emergency call alerts in accordance with facility policies. 4) Assist with the completion of resident assessment and ongoing service plan as directed. 5) Document on a daily basis as to resident assistance activities and resident status in accordance with forms as provided or amended. 6) Receives report and assignment when coming on duty/going off duty; 7) Attend mandatory in-service training programs; 8) Respond to pull cords promptly; 9) Provide customer service to residents and their families at all times; 10) All other Duties assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
1) Must be certified and provide documentation indicating successful completion of the Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program and Competency Exam. 2) Successfully complete the program and competency exam in 120 days unless in a community college or other education institution on a term, semester, or trimester basis. 3) Be at least 18 years of age. 4) Must have a High School Diploma or GED. 5) CPR certified. 6) Must be able to perform each of the essential position functions and meet health assessment requirements including a mantoux skin test for tuberculosis. 7) Ability to handle multiple priorities. Competent in organizational, time management skills. 8) Must have compassion and empathy for seniors and desire to work with seniors. 9) Self-directed, demonstrating initiative and follow-through 10) Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. 11) Must have the ability to read, write and follow written direction in the English language. 12) Maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation. 13) Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure. 14) Ability to recognize and communicate problems with Executive/Wellness Manager.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to touch, handle and feel, and is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

$18.75 per hour
